EGC or Rodent Ulcers in Cats

AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterTwitterShare to PinterestPinterestPinterestShare to MoreAddThisMore6

Eosinophilic Granuloma complex (EGC) or rodent ulcers in cats are fairly common presentations in medical practice. Symptoms may include swelling/ulceration of the lips, which can be in some cases accompanied by drooling and can in some cases affect ability to eat. Some cats will have ulcers present on the gums or tongue as well.

Other presentations of EGC include raised hairless plaques or discrete skin swellings in the abdominal/groin area, as well as areas on the legs.

Licking or itching of the affected areas is typically present in the history.Causes of this syndrome in cats include flea bite allergies, inhalant/contact allergies and/or food allergies.

I will typically try numerous cats with this syndrome on a restricted novel  protein rabbit or venison protein based diet for 2-3 months to see if food allergies are involved.  Topical flea control with advantage or Frontline plus is always recommended in cats with these lesions.  Diagnosis of this syndrome is based on medical appearance during an office visit, and/or aspiration of the plaques, and microscopic exam of the cells on the microscope.

Treatment may include diet changes, flea control, as well as injectable or oral anti-inflammatory therapy with cortisone to decrease swelling and improve comfort until underlying causes are identified.  because these lesions in some cases become secondarily infected,  antibiotics are typically prescribed as well.

Bully Kutta canine Info, Temperament, Training, Puppies, pictures

Bully Kutta Dog

The Bully Kutta includes a fearsome credibility — just one which is well deserved. A catch-all title for mastiffs that occur in Pakistan, they’re huge, aggressive, and much more dangerous.

They’re popular among young men who wish to work with an ”macho” image. It’s very similar to the English Bulldog is currently in England as well as elsewhere. That said, that the Bully Kutta isn’t a puppy for the faint hearted.

Originating from Sindh, a now-divided country that straddles Pakistan along with India, Bully Kuttas were bred as hunting and protecting dogs. Their aggression and size made them popular as animals and this customized continues (illegally) to the day.

Even emperors appreciated and admired themthe fantastic Mughal emperor Akbar, the third of the lineup, had Bully Kuttas for searching. Today Bully Kuttas are mostly located in Pakistan, however they’re still around from the boundary areas of India.

Bully Kutta basic Profile

Friendliness: These puppies aren’t really favorable, and that’s their primary selling point. though they may get alongside individuals they admire, they’ll attack other dogspets and strangers. This isn’t your normal family , because they are furious. On the opposing side, they create a number of the very best guard dogs.

Trainability: It is not easy coaching a Bully Kutta. This endeavor is earmarked for your well-experienced canine proprietor or coach. If you are a novice operator, then this really isn’t the strain for you. They just listen to people they admire and are extremely challenging to control.

Grooming: The Bully Kutta does not really shed due to their short jacket. They need basic grooming which all dogs want, such as intermittent toothbrushing, cleaning, bathing and nail clipping.

Remember that these are large dogs that are energetic, for that reason it could be challenging to groom them on your own. professional help might be required.

Adaptability: Using a Bully Kutta within an enclosed environment isn’t the best idea. This can drive them mad and lead them to display harmful behaviour. They also favor the warmth and do not adhere well to cold temperatures.

Action: They require a good deal of space to play along with a great deal of exercise to expend energy. What is bad about using a big lively puppy is that in the event that you do not give it physical action, they could do any damage around your home.

Bully Kutta – essential Information

Height: 30 — 44 In.
Weight: 150 — 170 Pounds
Life Expectancy: 8 — 10 Decades
Dog Breed Group: n/a

What’s a Bully Kutta?

A bully kutta is occasionally known as an overall title for large aggressive dogs at India.

To puppy lovers and a few breeders, the Bully Kutta is a different breed of dog. But, others disagree and say it’s only a word for several of the combating dogs of northern Pakistan. The truth is somewhere in between, so much as I can tell.

There are roughly 5 different forms of this Bully Kutta, each distinct from others. This makes them challenging to set as a distinct breed. The clubs of Pakistan and India haven’t categorized the Bully Kutta as a different breed such as the Tibetan Mastiff, for instance.

Varieties of Bully Kutta contain: historical Bully Kutta, Nagi, Mastiff-type, Aseel and Modern. information on all those varieties is hard to discover in English (your correspondent doesn’t talk Punjabi).

Bully Kuttas are smart, filled with energy, and quite competitive. They could stand practically 3 feet tall and weigh over 12 stones, placing them firmly in the ”big dog” class.

This concern and muscular strength is coupled with their aggressive character to create them some of their many dreaded guardian dogs around the Subcontinent.

Types/Variations of Bully Dogs

During British rule, the Indian continent was separated into various princely states that were divided into numerous kingdoms, with each kingdom having their hold preferences.

Thus, the Bully Kutta endured in diverse features and forms according to the particular zonal preferences. some of the primarily widespread variations are:

Ancient typeBully Kutta

Aseel Bully Kutta

Modern Bully Kutta

How They got Their Title

For this kind of huge and grotesque dog, the title Bully Kutta creates a good deal of awareness to an English speaker. However, its name really implies something entirely different.

The title isn’t a corruption of the English phrase ”bulldog,” as numerous folks can think. “Bully” stems in the Punjabi term ”bholi,” implying profoundly wrinkled or quite wrinkly. “Kutta” only implies puppy.

Westerners shifted bholi to bully because it seemed like a derivation of all Bulldog,” but this isn’t its origin. far from being a bully who’s prepared to strike for no clear motive, a Bully Kutta is only an incredibly wrinkly puppy.

Origins of the Bully Kutta

The Bully Kutta was proven to have descended from the Alaunt puppies.

The Bully Kutta is a direct descendent of this Alaunt, an early breed of big, short-coated searching and herding dogs. They were filmed from the Alani, that jumped in what is now Iran.

These dogs followed the tribe because they went around Persia and outside. They have been also bred to hunt and fight together with horses, in addition to shield the campsites of the own masters.

The effects of the Alaunt Dog

Even the Alani had a massive credibility as warriors and so were employed from the Romans to shield Hadrian’s wall in Britain. Some believe the British Pugnaces, the greatest ancestors of English Mastiffs and Bulldogs, will be the descendants of those Alaunt searching dogs, and also the Alani took together to Britain.

The first Alaunt breed was extinct for 400 decades but their descendants reside on roughly Europe and Asia. They are typically big, gruesome, and also territorial.

Back in India, the Alani fought and traded. The natives delighted in their dogs along with the ancestors of those Bully Kutta were utilized in India in the future. Independent varieties emerged in the Sindh district at Rajastan, in Bhawalpur, also in Kutch.

Still another Mastiff, the Alangu, is thought to have been created in precisely the exact same time in comparable places.

There’s probably blossom and central Asian Mastiff bloodstream from the northern Bully Kutta Indian and lines Mastiffs from the southern areas. even the Alangu Mastiff is interchangeable with all the Bully Kutta however is really another breed.

Bully Kutta Appearance

The sight of a Bully Kutta is gruesome, that discusses why they’re such outstanding guard dogs.

A big, solidly constructed, and muscle strain, the Bully Kutta may weigh around 170 lbs (some rare cases have reached 200 lbs, or 14 stones). They could stand as large as 44 inches to get a man and 36 inches for a lady. If well worked out, they could be bristle using muscles.

There’s no true standardization of this strain because it isn’t considered a pure strain by the majority of experts. The expression Bully Kutta is a helpful term for several similar appearing Alaunt Hounds at Pakistan and India.

Physical Attributes

Their coats are often white with occasional markers, but a few cases are black, developed, brindle, piebald, or fawn. coats are brief and don’t drop.

A Bully Kutta nearly always includes a dark nose, but occasionally they are in some cases pink. numerous lack pigmentation round their mouths, or possess patchy pigmentation. Their eyes are typically gray or gold and are put under thick brows.

With skin that is loose, firming flews (upper lips) and intermittent dewlaps (excessive skin), they’ve got the’very wrinkly dog’ name. Bully Kuttas have little ears which tuck back in their minds, presumably to limit damage from combating with other dogs and massive animals. Their minds are thick and wide, extending out of a squat and short neck.

Their backs are absolutely flat and bend down to the anus. numerous have thick curled tails but a few have stubs. The rear legs are twice muscled and their pliers are tight and also bear-like. They walk as a tiger, that can be very disconcerting.

Bully Kutta Temperament

Despite popular belief, the Bully may earn a fantastic pet.

Only the most seasoned of pet owners should attempt enhancing a Bully Kutta. They want a firm hand and a great deal of patience to train and socialize. With this, they are in some cases harmful and uncontrollable.

Many young men from Pakistan and India possess this strain to job machismo. Surely, these are harmful dogs and can be trained to strike.

With People, kids and Pets

Aggression is the most dominant feature when describing the character of a Bully Kutta. They love to battle and are incredibly good at it. little dogs and creatures seem like crispy treats for them, which makes them entirely unsuitable for families with different pets.

Maintaining two Bully Kuttas collectively in close proximity isn’t advisable as they’ll undoubtedly struggle each other.

In case you have some other creatures in the home, don’t receive a Bully Kutta. They have them for supper. In other words, unless they had been raised together. even then, it’s a large opportunity to take.

All of that said, that the Bully Kutta may earn a fantastic family pet. They’re tolerant of children also can be very lively. Unlike some huge dogs, they’re also quite smart dogs.

Intelligence may imply stubbornness and also a propensity to become exhausted easily, but in addition, it causes a aggravating companion.

A Bully Kutta will bond with a single individual and are typically called a one-person puppy. but when they’re raised with a household or band (and correctly trained)they are loving animals that will protected their package with startling savagery.

They are amazingly loving and caring for their own masters, but ought to you have friends around for dinner, be certain that you present them correctly.

Interesting Facts of Bully Kutta

Unluckily, because of its dog-aggressive character, numerous bully kuttas are illegally raised exclusively for dogfight especially in Pakistan. This is a ghastly, bloody sport, delighted in by hundreds of spectators, typically ending in either victory or death.

Pink nose, yellow eyes, tri-color face, docked or kinky tail and height less than 32″ in males and 27″ in females are a few of the traits that prohibit a bully kutta.

Currently, this breed is rare in India and rest of the world, but easily available in Pakistan.

The awfully name ‘Bully’ is said to have either been resulting from canine names like ‘Bulldog’, ‘Pit bull’, ‘Bull terrier’ etc., or from ‘Bohli’, which implies ‘heavily wrinkled’, and ‘Kutta’, which implies ‘dog’ in Sindhi, Urdu and other South-Asian languages.

Fighting Dogs

Countless decades of breeding have left them fighters. however well you educate them, you can’t avoid them by picking fights with other dogs.

Walks in the park using a Bully Kutta is going to result if you are hauled behind the huge creature because it lunges at the rest of the dogs, barking loudly and drooling everywhere.

What seems like a play struggle can unexpectedly turn severe. They’ll tear bloody chunks from each other when given the opportunity.

If a puppy will submit on them, they’ll leave them independently, and that implies you mostly need to be concerned about additional combating breeds such as Mastiffs and Pit Bulls.

Guard Dogs

Bully Kuttas have quite loud lines and will bark a great deal at whatever that they consider that a danger or a intruder. This is in some cases bothersome to neighbors and individuals who value their sleep.

But not even the strangest burglar would choose a Bully Kutta, so that they function very efficiently as a hindrance. folks are hospitalized frequently from choosing a battle, or being put upon, with a Bully Kutta.

For numerous of their aggression, even given the opportunity, a Bully Kutta will sleep daily and inhale all over every thing. possibly the ideal place to get a docile Bully is to a little island away from all of the distractions.

Living with a Bully Kutta

Living with a Bully may be hard, because they frequently are challenging to control.

Just experienced breeders and breeders ought to choose a Bully Kutta. They desire a solid authoritative amount to be manipulated. The owner desires a great deal of physical power to train them efficiently and to stop them from doing damage to other creatures.

Bully Kuttas also require quite a great deal of room. They’ll trash a flat if they’re left alone, for that reason that they require at the very least a moderate sized lawn to run about in. daily walking is crucial.

They can’t be allowed off the leash when you can find not any dogs or people round, they can and can strike puppies. Tales of Bully Kuttas attacking people is sexier, but it will occur.

You may or may not know that I have been studying medicine!  here is my professional lab coat and stethoscope.  For some reason, heart sounds are real fuzzy through this stethoscope…

You might be wondering, “Daisy, why do you want to learn medicine?” It is on account of my angel sister, Pixie.  Pixie was a good sister, but she had a very bad heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and she had to go to the Rainbow Bridge when she was 13 years old, about 3 years ago.  Pixie taught me a lot of crucial things like how to bite when I get mad.

Here is a picture of Pixie’s heart.  As you can see, she had a very pretty and colorful heart! Every day, Pixie had to take medicines with big words like atenolol, lasix, plavix and enalapril.  I think all those pills made her heart feel better.

Even though it is too late to help my sister, it is my dream to learn medicine and help other cats! I already have a Milton-Bradley home study course called “Operation” to help me learn everything I will need to know.  here I am using my magnifying plastic to take a closer look at the broken Heart.

This individual has a condition called “Brain Freeze.”  I have not gotten to the neurology part of my study course, so I might not be able to cure this condition yet.  until I am an expert in neurology, I will only charge seventeen pennies for this procedure. and I get to keep the ice-cream cone.

If you are feeling under the weather, I am available for consultations. My tweezers, um I indicate forceps, are charged up and ready to go!

Who would like an appointment with me?

Review: cross My path

I love it when a book’s cover accurately convey’s the “feel” of the story inside, and this is absolutely true for Clea Simon’s Blackie and care cat mystery series. cross My path is the third book in the series featuring Blackie the cat and his human Care, a young private detective.

Written in the voice of Blackie, a black cat with a mysterious past, set in an unnamed city with a post-apocalyptic feel, this series combines elements of fantasy and mystery.

From the publisher:

Care’s track record as a private investigator is growing and clients are beating a path to her door. An elderly woman seeks her help in finding out what happened to her brother. Blackie senses he’s met this woman before, some time before he became a cat. but who is she – and what is their connection?

At the same time, a dockworker asks care to find a colleague who’s gone missing. but how come a poor labourer has the funds to pay for Care’s services?

As Blackie and care delve further, it becomes clear that neither client has been telling the whole truth. then a body is discovered at the waterfront, and the investigation takes a disturbing new twist …

If you’ve read The conscious cat for any length of time, you know I’m a substantial fan of Clea Simon’s work. I adore her relaxing mysteries, but I still haven’t quite made pals with this series. I like my reading on the lighter side, and the setting of this grimy city filled with people who are struggling to survive is just too dark and depressing for my taste.

However, I absolutely love Clea’s brilliant, highly descriptive writing style. Her words paint a brilliant picture of the city’s dark corners and the despair of lots of of its inhabitants. Additionally, writing in a cat’s voice is not something lots of writers do well without descending into the realm of cute (not that there’s anything wrong with that!) Simon manages to write from Blackie’s point of view in a way that not only reflects a extensive understanding of feline behavior, but also a connection to the feline essence.

If you take pleasure in dark mysteries or apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction with an element of fantasy, you will take pleasure in this book. cross My path can be read as a standalone, but why not take pleasure in the entire series?

Cross My path is available from Amazon.

Check out Clea Simon’s new “non cat” book!

World enough is a multi-layered, intricately plotted mystery that takes the reader deep into the 1980’s Boston club scene and one woman’s struggle to both reconnect with and disconnect from her past. I loved this book – for me, this was one of those books that you just can’t put down.

Your pet’s skin and coat offer clues to overall health

AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterTwitterShare to PinterestPinterestPinterestShare to MoreAddThisMore208

It seems like a big issue for numerous people today is keeping the skin looking and feeling young.  Aging gracefully has been for the most part replaced with the concept that aging is a disease that can be prevented. Everywhere we look we see words such as anti-oxidants, totally free radicals, lasers, surgeries, vital fatty acids, and other drugs or methods developed at keeping us feeling and looking younger for longer than ever before. When we’re young we wish to be older, when old we wish to be young, when rich we see the charm in the simplicity of not having much, and when we’re struggling with finances we believe that money can resolve all our problems. Probably the best way to avoid the trap of always searching for that something “else” to make everything better, is to begin appreciating what we do have and to live in the present.  There is something stunning about a person who appreciates who they are, what they have, does not regret the past, and is not scared of the future.

When it concerns our skin and our pet’s skin however, it’s not all about looking young. My canine duke doesn’t really care if he looks young or old but when he had a skin infection that was not going away after a few days, I brought him in to the veterinarian for a checkup. Apparently his blood sugar has been a little on the high side and we now have to view him for potential signs of diabetes.

Sometimes a pet may have dry skin or unhealthy looking skin because the diet may not include enough vital fatty acids. Giving Omega 3 fatty acid supplements could help keep the skin looking healthy, decrease inflammation, and decrease shedding.  other foods or supplements which include beta carotene and other useful vitamins can also play a role in keeping the skin healthy.

A product that has come to my attention recently because of positive reviews I hear from pet owners is called Proanthozone. This anti free-radical supplement includes bioflavanol and helps keeps cells healthy throughout the body. Bioflavanol from grape seed extract is supposedly the most potent antioxidant known. By scavenging totally free radicals, Proanthozone inhibits enzymes that break down collagen. Collagen and elastin is what makes up the structure of the skin and when totally free radicals cause it damage, the skin loses its elasticity. This product has also been recommended for liver, cardiovascular, and kidney health.

Skin conditions on a pet that won’t go away are typically indicative that something else could be going on with another part of the body. When the body is not healthy numerous times this shows up as an external symptom on the skin or on the extremities. Whether it’s a vitamin deficiency, an allergy, an immune system weakness, diabetes, a hormone imbalance, or something else going on, it is essential to get the canine over to the veterinarian for a complete checkup. The earlier a diagnosis is made and the underlying problem is identified, the quicker the road to recovery will be.

As always, if you have any medication related questions call your pharmacist at 1800PetMeds who will be much more than pleased to help answer them for you.

ABCs, 123s: evaluating Your Pet safety Program

By Khris Berry
January 31, 2019
Pet grooming safety has become a much discussed topic in the past year. As I speak with groomers around the globe, one common style resonates—groomers care about the safety and welfare of the animals we service. Public awareness about our industry has brought a lack of oversight and organization into the spotlight.

However, there is a common misconception, that because we are an industry which has been lacking in legislative oversight, we need to be unsafe. and that is the great divide which triggers lots of pet groomers distress; just because we have not been organized as an industry, does not indicate that we are operating with hazardous practices. I meet lots of groomers who are shining examples of pet safety fundamentals and put the health and welfare of their clients’ animals at the top of their extremely long list of concerns.

Since there is an boosted awareness of groomers and specialists in our industry, each groomer must regularly review their safety basics, policies and methods relating to Groomer Safety. believe of providing yourself a regular checkup—more enjoyable than a go to to the dentist, but just as needed for the ongoing health and safety of your clients.

Social climates are changing, and the social value put on animals is climbing. This may have produced a need to update your safety guidelines and your clients will recognize your constant attention to this aspect of your business.
Advertisements

Below are general safety concerns to ask yourself which will help you develop or review your safety Plan:

General facility Safety:

Are your animal holding areas, cages, dryers and all equipment in good working purchase and developed for the animals you utilize them on?

Are you able to conveniently supply services for the animals you take in daily without crowding, rushing or improvising?

Do you have cleaning/sanitizing protocol in place to decrease the risk of contagious or contagious illness from passing between dogs and humans?

Do you have plans in place for emergency events (fire, escape, medical emergency, etc.) and is your personnel trained to follow them?

General safe Handling:

Do you have animal Advocacy or animal welfare plans in place for the animals in your care?

Do you have safe animal dealing with guidelines and do you require your personnel to practice them?

Do you dialog with your clients freely about any issues with their pets’ health, temperament or condition?

Do you practice safe and humane restraints, and exercise calm self–control when dealing with all animals for grooming services?

Pets:

Do you have release develops available in addition to client education in place for circumstances which increase the risk to either groomer or pet (senior, medical issues, behavioral, severe matting, etc.)?

Are you and your personnel able to identify common health, skin, medical and behavioral issues, and do you regularly refer those to the proper pet professional?

Do you have plans in place to secure animals on tables, in tubs and cages, and during your care, and do you require your personnel to practice them?

Do you regularly record service notes including issues which would affect the safety of the pet during the groom?

Safety Training:

Have you or a member of your personnel went to Pet safety classes (CPR, safety Certification, disease Awareness, safe Handling, etc.)? how often do you update your training?

Are your clients aware that you have safety training, procedures and/or policies to secure their pet while in your care?

Do you have written safe dealing with guidelines to show clients and employees?

Do you regularly review your safety procedures and risk–assess your facility, workers and dealing with of pets? (Congrats! You can inspect this box by reading this post and applying it to your own safety Guidelines.)

Attention and Awareness

There is no substitute for attention and awareness when working with pets. In a service which needs a broad scope of skill such as pet grooming, we often become oblivious to the small details. An old saying, “The devil is in the details”, is never a lot more true than when working with pets. Paying close attention to even the smallest details and applying your full attention to every pet in your care is the very best practice to make sure that every pet is safe for each groom.

I find that lots of discussions with pet groomers about pet safety are short and sweet. Groomers are pleased of the services we offer and really care for the animals we manage every day. considering that pet grooming is a mainly hands–on, discovered apprenticeship–style career, lots of pet groomers have simply “learned by doing”. having completed a practice a certain method for a number of years does not negate the fact that it may not be safe, smart or accepted by today’s pet having public. careful examination of your own safety methods will make sure that you and younull

Dr. Bahr graduated from the university of Georgia college of Veterinary medicine in 1991. Unlike many veterinarians, she did not grow up knowing that she would become a veterinarian. “It was a cat who got me interested in the practice and I am forever grateful to him,” said Dr. Bahr. Over the course of her veterinary career, Dr. Bahr found that the lifestyle of cats has changed dramatically. As the lifestyle of cats has changed, so did Dr. Bahr’s client education. In addition to finding medical solutions, she also encourages owners to enrich their home environments so that their cats can live long, happy, and healthy lives.

This new understanding led Dr. Bahr to combine her passion for strengthening the human-animal bond with her veterinary background and knowledge of what animals need and want to start her own solution-based cat product company, Dezi & Roo, inspired by two cats of the same names.

Protruding third Eyelid

My 4 yr old Ocicat male has had his 3rd eyelid up much more on than off for several months now . My vet could not identify a reason for this. He was given a shot of Convenia, he ran a low grade temperature and thought he might have been constipated from having a mouse, he does go out as we have a farm, his outings are brief and loosely supervised. We have had a neighbor male spraying from time to time and I have been using the calming spray inside and out. 3 months later the eyelids are still up much more than down. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. – Marie Pyle

Hi Marie,

Thank you for reaching out to ask why your cat’s third eyelids might be elevated. You were wise to take your kitty to a veterinarian and I am glad to know nothing major was found. While numerous illnesses can cause the third eyelid to show, it is much more likely that your cat is handling Haws Syndrome, because he is otherwise feeling well.

No one really knows what causes Haws Syndrome, but it is believed to be related to an internal parasite infection like tapeworms. Symptoms may include elevation of the nictating membrane (third eyelid), diarrhea, occasional low grade fever, or decreased appetite. However, in many instances, all we really notice is the cross-eyed look associated with the third eyelid being visible. Fortunately, this condition usually resolves on its own given some time. However, it is a good idea to have your Ocicat treated with a broad spectrum dewormer to eliminate the possibility he is handling a tapeworm infection. Anytime I see this condition in my clients this is the course of treatment I recommend.

If for any reason your young boy is not acting normally, losing weight, or has any other symptoms besides his third eyelids being elevated, please take him back to your vet for a recheck. Otherwise, you ought to expect this condition to resolve on its own soon.

Problems after general anesthesia

Hello, my cat came out of general anaesthetic ‘flat’ 2-3 years ago, and has never recovered. Her walking, claw retraction, and orientation are all affected. She has now stopped going outside to toilet and uses a litter tray. Is this likely to continue to deteriorate? What can we do? – Janice Davison

Hi Janice,

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty’s condition. Unfortunately, without much more medical information I am unable to access whether or not this condition will continue to deteriorate. However, I would recommend you have your cat seen by a veterinary neurologist in the hopes that a proper diagnosis is made and a treatment plan formulated. Without a neurologic exam, anybody would be guessing at her prognosis. There might be the possibility that she could even improve rather than deteriorate but you will need to seek the help of a veterinary neurologist to find that out. I hope that is the case. good luck.

August 26th marks the annual national canine Day. This is a day where we can give our canine the royal treatment, and  appreciate all the good things our dogs bring to our lives. In case you are wondering why there is a day just for dogs, here are a few reasons:

Dogs are hard workers. Some dogs lead the blind or help on the farm, and all they want in return is a easy pat on the back.

Dogs are watchdogs. If trained right, dogs can safeguard us from intruders, or even strangers on the street.

Dogs reduce loneliness. When we are lonely, it’s normal to feel sad and depressed. However, studies have shown that animals can decrease tension and improve mood, and help some people with moderate depression.

Dogs improve your health. Studies have shown that having a pet can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels. In fact, pet parents over the age of 65 make 30% fewer visits to their physicians than those without animals – wow, what a difference a pet can make!

Dogs help you exercise. another way a canine can help your health is to help you get out and exercise more. When your canine needs a walk, it’s not just assisting your pet’s health; it’s assisting your health too.

Dogs give you responsibility. having a canine is a great responsibility, but that’s not a bad thing. In fact, for young adults, taking care of an animal can help instruct values as well as responsibility.

Dogs need friends too. have a fun afternoon with your pooch at a canine park where he or she can meet other rambunctious pups, plus you can also meet other loving canine parents.

Dogs are loyal. It has always been said that a “dog is man’s best friend” – well it really is true. The friendship between canine and man dates back for countless years. Dogs always give unconditional love, to a man, woman, or child.

Dogs love to bond. Dogs are very affectionate creatures, which implies they love to cuddle with other animals and even humans as much as possible. I mean, what much more could you want after a long, hard day?

Dogs are fun to have around. Last but not least, dogs are just really fun to have around, because they bring out the adventurer in us. Whether you want to take a new hiking trail or run an extra mile, our precious animals are with us every step of the way.

Whether you have one, two or three dogs, you know just how essential they are. In good times and in bad, you can always expect to see Fido waiting at the door when you come home. let your pup know just how much you appreciate him or her with a new toy, treats, or possibly even a new canine bed. Besides, it is the least we can do for the one that always has our back.
